While an insignificant few repeatedly state that George Williamson and Gary Butler are the real deal, most residents aren’t that naive. Most know by now that the real deal is actually comprised of a nest of conflicts, relationships, and special interests.

Some of the connections might be legal conflicts of interest, or relationships might be just special interest and bias. Are these the relationships and interests the citizens of Punta Gorda want in members of their city council?

Would candidates with legal conflict of interest or relationship bias recuse themselves from votes on all commercial zoning and land development regulations? Or will they serve their masters?
